Suppliers, dealers and service providers can register their offers in an easy and convenient way.

Many of us know about the valuable information Google Maps offers us. However, there are many missing spots and information that is not disclosed, which is where digital maps of Leipzig comes into play: Citizens as well as authorities can use them to investigate the traffic in the city, parking availability but also information about land values or the development of the city infrastructure. In 2015, the city of Leipzig renewed its digital 3D city map which is available on their website. The 3D city model covers the entire city of Leipzig with more than 150,000 captured buildings, their roofs as well as facade and roof texture.

Remote Tower Control Centre in Leipzig

450 kilometres away, the remote tower control centre in Leipzig handles the take-offs and landings at Saarbrücken Airport since the beginning of December 2018 with already 2,500 safely monitored flights. It is the first international airport in Germany that is no longer monitored from the local tower.

Fully-automatic Marshalling Yard in Halle

Since July 2018 the new, fully-automatic train formation yard in Halle (Saale) is in operation, after a four-and-a-half-year construction period. On the site of the former Halle goods yard near Halle main station on an area of 250,000 square metres one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in Europe was built. The purpose of a train formation facility is to marshal goods wagons from incoming trains into new rakes so that they and other wagons can form a new train which is as long as possible. It ranks among the top five marshalling yards in Germany and is an important rail junction for the transport axises West and East, North/Baltic Sea and Southeast Europe as well as Scandinavia and the Mediterranean Sea. The marshalling yard has taken over the operations of Leipzig-Engelsdorf and Dresden-Friedrichstadt which were closed in December 2018.
